    We are very happy to welcome visiting scholars Zsofi Nagy and Professor Peter Sobolewski to our group. Zsofi is a medical student at University of Szeged and will be working with Aswathy and Samira on enzyme catalyzed polymer modifications and polymer-based drug delivery systems.

  6. PAPER Enzyme-catalyzed amine-functionalization of poly(ethylene-glycol)

    Abstract: This paper presents a new method for the amine-functionalization of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) of Mn =2050 g/mol via Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB)-catalyzed esterification of tert-butyloxycarbonyl (tBOC)-protected β-Alanine and L-Alanine. NMR showed full conversion for protected β-Alanine, and MALDI-ToF demonstrated the purity of the product. After deprotection, the desired diamine-functionalized PEG was obtained.

    Dr. Puskas will spend June at the Budapest University of Technology and Economic and Dr. Molnar will spend June and July at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szcecin as part of the H2020-MSCA-RISE-2019 GREEN-MAP project.
